BRIEF HISTORY

Angel John Integrated Academy, Inc. (AJIA) was established in July 2006 but it was not actually operated until June 2008 after the completion of the first phase of the building.

AJIA is a brainchild of spouses Mr. Angelo C. Geronimo and Dr. Ellinor-Fua Geronimo. Dr. Geronimo, an author of accounting and management books, a CPA, a Bachelor in Commerce major in Accountancy (cum laude) graduate, and a Doctor in Educational Management graduate saw a vision and realized how noble it is to run a school. She discussed her dreams of leaving a noble legacy for the country with her supportive husband. Her husband agreed.

The couple started scouting for an appropriate piece of land where they can start their dream of providing quality and holistic education to the children of the next generation. After considering a number of good lots for sale and with the help of the Good Provider, they purchased a lot in Lalakhan, Sta. Maria, Bulacan in 2006 and started the construction work for a 4-storey building with 36 huge classrooms. The school started operations in 2008. Due to its quality programs, the school was immediately granted government recognition by the Department of Education on its first year of operation.

The couple’s children, Allen (a Lawyer and a CPA who graduated from San Beda College), Adrian (a Medical Doctor from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay and a graduate of BS Biology from De La Salle University-Manila) and Angel John (a BS Accountancy Graduate from the University of Santo Tomas) were also very supportive. They conceptualize and prepare the school’s advertising leaflets, tarpaulin advertisements and maintenance of the AJIA website and social media accounts.

The school was blessed by Pastor Amando Dizon on June 12, 2008. The affair coincided with the birthday celebrations of Angel John F. Geronimo and Eliseo B. Fua (the late father of Dr. Geronimo), and of the newly minted CPA, Allen F. Geronimo who at the time, just passed the PRC board exams for Accountancy.

When the school opened in June 16, 2008, Dr. Geronimo became the President and Principal. Elvira A. Bautista was appointed as the Administrative Director and the first batch of teachers were likewise given designations: Romel A. Largo as Assistant Principal, Mary Grace Marquez as Treasurer, Eileen Jane D.C. Nicolas as Registrar, and Maria Ana Luz Gregorio as Technical Coordinator.

On March 24, 2009, the first Commencement Exercises was held wherein only 4 elementary students and 8 senior kindergarten students graduated. All students from all grade levels were invited to attend and to witness the affair. Dr. Geronimo then announced that all students enrolled for that year will receive the "Pioneer Recognition Award" by the time they will graduate from the school.

The following school year (SY 2009-2010), AJIA received government recognition for its First Year and Second Year High School Program, and hence, the High School Department formally opened even if there were only 2 second year students and 13 first year students at the time.

The graduation rites of 2012 saw the first batch of High School Students to graduate from AJIA, who later on went to pursue bachelor degrees from different colleges and universities. Likewise, the Department of Education granted the school full government recognition for its High School Program from First Year to Fourth Year.

In 2013, Romel Largo was named as the School Principal, Mary Grace Marquez became the Guidance and Elementary Coordinator and Eileen Jane Nicolas was appointed as the Pre-School Coordinator and Registrar. Furthermore, the school was granted accreditation by the Bureau of Immigration to accept foreign students while the High School Department was granted Fund Assistance to Private Education (FAPE) to assist students financially.

In 2015, the Department of Education granted AJIA the permit to operate its Senior High School Program. Thus beginning in 2016, the Senior High School Department operated with an initial population of 45 students.

March 2018 witnessed the celebration of AJIA's 10th year anniversary culminating on its 10th Commencement Exercises including the school's first batch of Senior High School graduates. Moreover, the school awarded its pioneer students, teachers and staff for being with the school for 10 long years, and in the future years to come as they continue the tradition of excellence and fun-filled learning.
